In the last episode of the IKEA interior makeover show, we visit a big family in Riga. In this family, there are four children and a fifth on the way. A while ago, the family apartment was renovated, but, unfortunately, the renovation was not finished. Now the family would like to be prepared for the new family member who will join them at the end of December.
It is quite easy to decorate spacious rooms as there, the only limit is the fantasy. But to decorate a small space so it would be comfortable? It is a much more difficult task. "Home Idea with IKEA" visits a family of six and the room awaiting makeover is a bedroom for the smallest of three children and his mother. IKEA Interior Designer Kristīne already mastered a small space challenge in the last season and is not afraid to wage it again!
Healthy and sustainable living is something we at IKEA can never get tired of talking about. And we believe that it matters to you as well. That’s why we have conducted a survey to find out how people feel about their green life at home and what we all can do to make a difference.
In this shared bedroom of a young couple and their brand new baby, comfort and calmness reign supreme. From baby’s nursery corner to their ultra-compact wardrobes, “less is more” is the motto throughout. But a peaceful, snooze-affirming sleep space isn’t the only plus – their pared-back approach means they never buy more than they need, saving money for the things and experiences that really matter.
The stress of the city had this couple longing for a slower, simpler and more conscious life – even before their baby came along. And while becoming parents turned their world upside down, they discovered that it didn’t have to change how they wanted to live. Their cosy little apartment embodies lived-in simplicity: furnished only with things that this new little family needs and loves, with both the present and future in mind. Best of all, at a surprisingly low price too.
Of course you want everything to be perfect before the new arrival. But relax, here are some baby room ideas that will make it easy to set up a calm and caring corner for your baby and you.
Welcome to a world where little ones rule, and where growing together is the greatest adventure of all. Subtle elements of nature pop up throughout this adorable space, bringing the thrill of the outdoors to both play and bedtime. Longlasting furniture, like extendable beds and adjustable wardrobes, will see them through many fun-filled years ahead.
Three generations in a one-bedroom apartment. To some, it may sound like a squeeze, but by carefully planning each space and considering both organisation and comfort at every step, this family doesn’t just live together – they thrive.
Sleep is a vital element of a baby’s health and development. Your baby should sleep alone, on his or her back in a cot, until grown up enough to climb out of it. A cot provides an enclosed, protected environment. Here are a few more essential safety considerations that can help you to better cope with one of a parent’s biggest challenges.
Coming home with your baby there are certainly a few things that will make your new plus-one life easier. But don’t worry, it’s not as much as you might think. Here are some tips for putting together a good start kit for you and your baby.
