Meet MÄVINN, a new limited collection that invites you to appreciate the beauty of craftsmanship – made together with social businesses that provide jobs for people who need them most. Rich with details, joyful pops of colour and tactile materials, every item has a story to tell.
Crafted from cool blues
Add a crafty touch with a patchwork apron made from over run production denim by persons with disabilities in Vietnam. Designers Maria Vinka and Paulin Machado set out to create items with distinctive details.
Embrace tactile eye-catchers
Accessories made from natural materials like banana fibre and jute bring a rustic charm.
“This collection is all about detailing, making things look different and crafty.”
Paulin Machado
Designer, IKEA of Sweden
Every piece creates jobs
The expressive MÄVINN products provide jobs where jobs are few. This collection was co-created with our seven social business partners across Asia, who empower people from vulnerable groups through employment.
Details that make a difference
The collection is made extra special with hand-embroidered details. This warm-hued cushion cover is finished with a hand-stitched trim by women in rural villages in India where job opportunities are rare.
Making your mark
Put a personal spin on your home through unique accessories such as a handmade wall poster printed with a drawing of a family tree or multicoloured cushion covers stitched with tiny hearts.
Colourful around the edges
Appreciate the workmanship of even the smallest details. These bowls made from braided jute are finished with a border in vivid rainbow colours hand embroidered by women in rural Bangladesh.
Handpicked, just for you
Find your signature style with characterful accessories that sing with surprising details, colours and materials like patchwork denims.
Handwoven wonders
Bring some warmth and texture to your home with natural materials such as banana fibre and jute. These lamp shades and hanging storage baskets, handwoven from durable banana fibre, make a cosy statement.
