Easter at home: 3 ideas for a special family celebration
Spending Easter at home doesn’t mean we are not allowed to celebrate at all. Have you already missed the rustic Easter at your grandma’s? Or maybe you are longing for some luxurious restaurant atmosphere? Surprise your family with an inspiring table setting at home. Here are the three ideas on how to set the table and the mood.
1. Traditional family setting
Do you also feel nostalgic about the traditional Easter with several generations at the same table? Even if this year’s Easter will be celebrated in small families, you can still create a cosy rustic mood, just like at your grandmother’s home. To set the table in traditional style, start with a tablecloth. We are more than sure that your grandmother would never serve a meal without it. You will also benefit from beautiful place mats in natural materials, green twigs and white dinnerware mixed with the patterned serving bowls. Then, give some extra love to the youngest members in your family. After all, they are the ones who would get the most attention at your grandma’s! In addition to the traditional porcelain plates, place some grip-friendly mugs and plates for kids who are still learning how to eat on their own. Finally, nestle the Easter eggs into folded napkins to create some playful bunnies that will cheer up both kids and adults.
2. Bring spring to your table!
Your Easter table can also be inspired by the nature that is starting to wake up. If you want to bring spring to the table, combine the textiles and serveware in natural materials with glassware and decorate with live or artificial plants. Go with green decorations and the food itself: serve some sweets in green icing, herb-infused water or eggs painted with spinach leaves. To make the table even more vivid, combine green with light pink or other pastel shades. You can find beautiful combinations of green and pink as well as some elegant dinnerware for your celebration in the limited INBJUDEN collection.
3. Restaurant feeling at home
If you used to celebrate Easter in restaurants before the lockdown, you can definitely move that luxurious restaurant feeling into your home. When setting the table, combine classic colours such as black, gold and grey. The black dining table will be a great background for your grey-coloured dinnerware and golden cutlery or decorations. If your dining table isn’t black itself, use a black tablecloth to cover it.
The restaurant feeling is easier to create in a modern interior. Before setting the table, look at the overall picture and colours in your dining room. Then, match the colours on your table to the interior and add some eye-catching finishing touches. The combination of gold and silver is trending this year.
When celebrating within a household, you can easily go without a separate dessert table. Replace one with a large tray and serve all you might need for dessert at the end of your dining table.
