Work is often referred to as the second home and the colleagues – as the second family. Therefore, your workspace also deserves to be dressed up for Christmas so that both co-workers and visitors can enjoy the festive mood. This year, we, the B2B team, received a record number of entries for the "Christmas makeover with IKEA for Business" competition. We are delighted and pleased that more and more Companies are taking the opportunity to create a real festive feeling in their premises. The motivation or the story was crucial to win the competition: why you want this, what the current conditions are and what this opportunity will do for you as a team and for your customers.
About the project
This year's winner was "Mārupes novada Tūrisma un uzņēmējdarbības atbalsta aģentūra", a municipal agency working in the field of tourism, entrepreneurship, community engagement and marketing, based in Mārupe. The agency is also a tourism information centre. We were very impressed by the motivational video starring four-legged agent Benji and his lovely, smiling colleagues.
In the letter, staff mentioned that they are the ones who give a festive feeling to the people around them by organising fairs, public games and other events to celebrate the end of the year. During this time, the Agency's staff is busy and does not always manage to take care of themselves. We were happy to conjure up a winter fairy tale in this small but cosy office.
Feeling festive in a small office
Our aim was to create a pleasant festive ambience that would not interfere with the space functioning as intended, i.e. without changing the nature of the use of the space. The challenge was that the Agency is at the same time an office and a shop where you can buy various products made in the region. We placed the decorations in specific areas of the room, creating both individual accents in the winter solstice mood and an overall festive atmosphere. The STRALA stars in the windows not only decorate but also illuminate the premises, making them easy to see even in the darkest hours of the day.
We would like to thank the Agency's staff for their invaluable support, both in preparing the decorations and in adjusting the arrangement of the furniture. Together we have achieved a great outcome: the Christmas feeling will overwhelm everyone who stays in the premises daily or visits as a guest.
