Still, there has never been a room as unusual as this one. It is a kitchen and an orangery in one and an activity hub for the whole family. IKEA interior designer Katrīne will need all of her skill to make change happen in this space: a room where plant-lover Margita lets her passion free rein.
“Home idea with IKEA”: several generations under one roof
It often happens that life and family situations change and several generations find themselves living under one roof. This is the case in the Eglītis family, where the grandmother, is welcomed to live in the family home of Gunta. Although the house is spacious, the family has not managed to furnish a separate room: there is a room, but it has served mostly as a storage room, and it has not been freed from clutter to create a cosy living space for the grandmother.
Home idea with IKEA: a creative makeover at a crisis centre
Interior makeovers with IKEA take place in all kinds of spaces. This time, IKEA Interior Designer Ieva visits the crisis centre "Burtnieks", where a most important space is longing for a new lease of life – a room where creative workshops are held every day under the guidance of the energetic, optimistic Raimonda. Creativity is at a boiling point here, but Raimonda admits that there is so much of it that it takes a lot of time each day to organise the supplies.
