This weeks adventure is the transformation of a tiny bedroom in the home of a new family: parents Santa un Ilmārs, their baby boy Frederiks and Bonny, the cat. The room needed a professional touch in making it a relaxing hideaway and a love nest for the parents only. IKEA interior designer Renāte is up for the challenge of a cosy very-small-space-living.
The entrance area is the first and the last space we see in our home – it greets us as we enter and says goodbye when we leave. A harmonious interior helps to relax when stepping into home, but how can the entrance area contribute to the overall sustainability in your home? A loving couple, a small room and some 40-year-old furniture. This time, "Home Idea with IKEA" visits Jelgava where a special challenge awaits IKEA Interior Designer Dagne – she will create a whole new retreat for this lovely couple.
Helga and Andris have been married for 40 years and have lived the last 20 in their own cosy house in Jelgava. After giving all the best to their children and renovating their rooms it somehow never came to renovating their own bedroom.
A special task for IKEA Interior Designer Barba – a project like no other, this is the office/common room at the Crisis and Counselling Centre "Skalbes". This time, "Home Idea with IKEA" is visiting the office of the Centre that it moved into not very long ago. When moving, the old furniture was taken with, as due to the finances there was no possibility to buy new things. However, this office is the place of main activities of the Centre.
It has always been just one room that gets to be made over in "Home Idea with IKEA". This time, the balcony seems like such an integral part of a whole entrance area/balcony duo that there is no question about whether the interiors should be matching as well. IKEA Interior Designer Renāte Vāvere is up for the task – to work her magic on this space to create a pleasant surprise for the host and a welcoming first impression for the apartment.
This season, application for interior makeovers with "Home idea with IKEA" was open not only for individuals but also for small businesses. Interior designer Alla will face a very special challenge: a new interior for the production state/retail shop/tasting area of "Mītavas čiekurs". "Mītavas čiekurs" or "The pine cone of Mitau" is a family business and, not unlike many of the great names in business nowadays, it was born in a garage. Business owner and manager Reinis says he wishes the now stark and industrial interior would get some more warmth and cosines, so Alla sets out to fulfil this wish.
IKEA interior designers have furnished a new showroom in Workspaces section – a flower shop. You are welcome to visit and see how thought-out and seemingly simple solutions can be functional and charming for a business space.
