It is quite easy to decorate spacious rooms as there, the only limit is the fantasy. But to decorate a small space so it would be comfortable? It is a much more difficult task. "Home Idea with IKEA" visits a family of six and the room awaiting makeover is a bedroom for the smallest of three children and his mother. IKEA Interior Designer Kristīne already mastered a small space challenge in the last season and is not afraid to wage it again!
In the 3rd episode of the 3rd season of "Home idea with IKEA" we'll be visiting a happy family of four. For a long time, they were only a family of three, but were recently joined by the newest member – a little ray of sunshine named Alīna. The decision to welcome another child in the family was taken already some time ago, but the possibility for that arose unexpectedly so the room had to be prepared within a couple of days. The family dotes on Alīna and gives her all they can but improving of her room has been somewhat neglected in the light of much needed creation of a close relationship and other more urgent matters. An exciting task for the IKEA Interior Designer Līva – creation of a real home for a small and active girl.
We all know how much fun our kids have when they play. Unfortunately, we also know how much mess they can create while having fun. This is why we at IKEA have many solutions to help you get rid of the clutter without killing the fun. Let's start the new season of a more organised space for children together!
Meet PLATSA, our versatile way to get organised. With this modular storage system, you can arrange and rearrange your things in a smart way – build high or low, under the staircase or along an entire wall, in the bedroom, children's room, pantry and anywhere across your home.
A new season and many new interior adventures with "Home idea with IKEA". Kicking off the new season there is a story about many a city dwellers dream: a peaceful garden house in the heart of the city. Oskars and Kristīne have made themselves and their family a spot for relaxation in Lucavsala, the historic vegetable-patch district in Riga. Luscious green and inviting, it now lures many busy young families to spend some time closer to nature.
When three children share one room, finding the right interior solutions can be challenging. This time, "Home idea with IKEA" visits Annija, a mother of three for whom the visit is a surprise, organised by her own mother. Annija admits she is very happy to have been chosen as a participant as she struggles with the planning of her children's room. IKEA Interior Designer Zane is determined to make the everyday life for Annija's family better. What will be her best tips & tricks?
"Home idea with IKEA" works on makeovers in homes and businesses alike. The miniature kindergarden in Smārde, run by Anete and Elīna, is also a small business that has become a second home for both of them: they call the children of the kindergarden their second family. They have applied for a makeover in their, which is not comfortable and functional enough for the daily needs of the kindergarden. It would be easy to plan a kitchen in a large space, but this time everything has to be thought out centimetre by centimetre, because there are many needs but very little space.
Sleep is a vital element of a baby’s health and development. Your baby should sleep alone, on his or her back in a cot, until grown up enough to climb out of it. A cot provides an enclosed, protected environment. Here are a few more essential safety considerations that can help you to better cope with one of a parent’s biggest challenges.
Welcome to tips and ideas about everything from baby’s first days to how growing kids can keep their things tidy and organised. Playing, storing, personalising their space and more – it’s all here to help you make your home better for everyone.
If your child doesn’t already have a generous desk with easy-reach storage and a height-adjustable chair, this could absolutely give the schoolwork a proper power-up. Or perhaps all you need is better lighting, some practical desk organisers or handy wall storage to keep track of homework and library books.
Kids get a better recharge with happy and healthy habits that make the falling-asleep part easier. A long cuddle, a warm bath, a good book or some music – all ages have their favourite ways of unwinding.
